The event coincided with National Alzheimers Disease Awareness Month, observed during November. Today, ten percent of America’s workforce is unemployed, and many more workers are facing underemployment or enduring poor working conditions and inadequate supports and benefits.Jody Heymann, founder and director of the Project on Global Working Families and a professor in the Faculties of Medicine and Arts at McGill University, has written a new book entitled Raising the Global Floor (to be released on November 17th). It is based on an eight-year study examining the working conditions faced by 55,000 households in seven countries on five continents.
